Misogynistic Lyrics that aren't Rap

hit the floor - bullet for my valentine

I see you walking home alone, your face is alive and bright
But you can’t see how weak you are ‘cause I could end it tonight
It’s the feeling you get when you think that someone behind is watching you
Well I can tell you now, that someone is me and I’m about to make it right

Why do you take it all?
Why do I beg for more?
I never thought that this is how I’d hit the floor
Why do you take it all?
Why do I beg for more?
I never thought that this is how I’d hit the floor

I creep up from behind, touch your neck, move down your spine
You take a look and breathe so sharp
Just a matter of time
"Don’t scream" I ask of you, but then you let one out and now it’s time to go
I come down on you like a ton of bricks
All over so it’s time to go

(id do the bolding thing but all of this is awful oh my god)

Milow - You and Me (In My Pocket)

Oh you and me
It would be only you and me
Oh you and me
It would be only you and me

I wish you were a little bigger
Not just big but really fat
Doors you would no longer fit through
In my bed you would have to stay
I often wish that you had feathers
I’d keep you in a giant cage
All day long I’d sit and watch you
I’d sing for you and that would be okay

People say there are plenty of fish
In the sea, baby, all I do is wish

I wish you were a little slower
Not just slow but paralyzed
Then I could plug you into a socket
So you could never run away
I really wish that you were smaller
Not just small but really really short
So I could put you in my pocket
And carry you around all day

Right then, folks.

Me and Other Mod have talked this over, and we think we’ve taken this blog as far as we can go with it. We’re both far too busy to continue moderating it and checking submissions as thoroughly as we should. There are a couple of submissions in the queue that will post in the next few hours, then this blog is pretty much just an archive.

I’ll leave the ask box open for a couple of weeks, to see if any of you guys want to take on the blog and continue its legacy of exposing the shitty, but submissions are now closed.

Thank you to all of you for joining us on this ride, and I’m sorry we’ve not been as active as of late. Real life has just totally gotten in the way, and I think it’s time for us to gracefully bow out.

Keep on being critical of the dominant discourse, folks. We love you.

Redneck Crazy by

I’m gonna aim my headlights into your bedroom windows.

Throw empty beer cans at both of your shadows.

I didn’t come here to start a fight, but I’m up for anything tonight.

You know you broke the wrong heart baby, and drove me redneck crazy.

Later on in the song…

Did you think I’d wish you both the best, endless love and happiness?

You know that’s just not the kind of man I am.

I’m the kind that shows up at your house at 3 am.

This drunk redneck asshole is stalking his ex, and people are digging the shit out of it. Goodbye Earl was about a woman punishing her abuser and it was outright banned on some country stations.

On My Way - Billy Boy On Poison

I’m standing at your back porch baby
Come answer your door
I’ll give you what you want little lady
Can’t take any more

Hey!
If it’s love that you want from me
No way!
I’m just a boy with a melody
There’s no way I’ll stay here all night…
No way!

I’m creeping through your hallway darling
Coming to make you sweat
I’ll make it to your bedroom, honey
I can make you wet

Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke

i didn’t know if anyone had submitted this one yet but although there are some rap parts in the song, the main part of the song is sung by a white guy and that’s the portion that i submitted.

OK now he was close, tried to domesticate you
But you’re an animal, baby, it’s in your nature
Just let me liberate you
Hey, hey, hey
You don’t need no papers
Hey, hey, hey
That man is not your maker

And that’s why I’m gon’ take a good girl
I know you want it
You’re a good girl
Can’t let it get past me
You’re far from plastic
Talk about getting blasted
I hate these blurred lines
I know you want it
But you’re a good girl
The way you grab me
Must wanna get nasty
Go ahead, get at me

What do they make dreams for
When you got them jeans on
What do we need steam for
You the hottest bitch in this place
I feel so lucky
Hey, hey, hey
You wanna hug me
Hey, hey, hey
What rhymes with hug me?
Hey, hey, hey

Mod Edit: I wasn’t sure about this to start with, because it’s definitely not up to the horrific standards of some of the lyrics we’ve had submitted to this blog, but it’s definitely got some bits that I’m not keen on. The assumptions about what this nameless girl wants make me a little uncomfortable. Nowhere is it implied that she doesn’t ’want it’ like the song suggests, which is why I’m hesitant to tag it with any sort of non-con triggers, and it does take into account what she wants at one point and ascribes her some agency: “I feel so lucky/You wanna hug me” which is a nice surprise. It could even be interpreted as critical of the way in which womens’ actions are constrained by society: “good girls” aren’t allowed to express sexual urges explicitly.

However, I don’t want to wax too philosophical over this song which is undeniably shitty in places. Especially when you take into account that the unrated video actually just has naked girls dancing around in it for no discernible reason, so there we are.

jesus lizard - puss

Get me something to stop the bleeding, ‘cause I’m fittin’ to blow
Knock her down the stairwell and kick her, I think you can take her
Shove more bourbon down her mouth hole
'Cause she's the one that needs a nailing
Ya might as well just open the door and

Get her out of the truck, get her out of the truck
Get her out of the truck, get her out of the truck
Get her out of the truck, get her out of the truck
Get her out of the truck, get her out of the truck

Get me something to stop the bleeding, ‘cause I’m fittin’ to blow
Knock her down the stairwell and kick her, I think you can take her
Oh, she’s the one that needs a nailing
Ya might as well just open the door and

Get her out of the truck, get her out of the truck
Get her out of the truck, get her out of the truck
Get her out of the truck, get her out of the truck
Get her out of the truck, get her out of the truck

Get her out, pow in the bush, yeah right in the kisser
Shove more bourbon down her mouth hole
Pow, smacked in the puss, straight in the sucker
Plum in the kisser, busted her pie hole
Square in the yap, punched in the jaw, straight in the sucker
Dead in her tongue pin, busted in her pie
Square in the yap, punched in the jaw, plum in the kisser
Dead in her tongue, crushed, across, her pie
Smacked in the mush
